Want to know how to enjoy Disney but not feel rushed or lonely at the park? Here is just one sample itinerary of how I do a relaxing day at Disney. The biggest thing to keep in mind is:
Start with your mindset, you don't need to do everything.
Don't plan your entire day. Pick the top 3 things you want to do that day, the rest should be decided as you go about your day.
Not wanting to schedule ANYTHING at all & just explore, check out my other post (coming soon) on a Play it by Minnie Ears day in Disney. I will also be posting some Couple and date night or girls trip agendas.

This is an example of my day, your time slots will vary based on any rides or dining reservations you choose to secure.

Day(s) before:
Book 1 dining reservation, unless you want to just snack all-day
Secure your park reservation
Set up your 'MyDisney Genie Day' in the app. Select the park and any rides you are interested in so they show up first on your list when you go to reserve a Lightening Lane at 7 am the day of. (Not sure how to do this, message me)
Day in Park
In this scenario I am staying at one of the Disney Marriott hotels by the Boardwalk.
Set your alarm for 6:59 AM to secure a virtual queue or Lightning lane. Then go back to bed.
This is the only time I will be giving in this post. The rest you do at your leisure and how much or little you want to schedule.

Breakfast
Wake up and head to breakfast at Riveria via Skyliner and mobile order to Primo Piatto along the way.
Check-in when you get off the skyline and head to the lobby to get your coffee. Dine at one of the outdoor seating spots under cover or out by the water.
Lightening Lane Ride on Safari
Take the bus to Animal Kingdom and head straight to the safari to enjoy the animals early morning before the heat hits. Animals are more active in the morning.
Grab a coffee at the Isle Of Java right before Dinoland (the only spot inside the park to get Joffrey's coffee). If you want Starbucks there is one right next to Pizzafari. DO NOT get coffee from any of the other huts, they are not Joffrey's or Starbucks and they taste awful!!
Take your coffee and go walk around the Tree of Life, there is a pathway around the tree and through it, the carvings are beautiful and it's usually pretty quiet. Then find a quiet spot to sit and people-watch or grab a lighting lane for a show. I really like the Bird Show, it's outside and covered and you can spread out in the back away from a lot of the crowd.

Grab a seat next to the trees up top or sit on the center aisle in the main floor stands for a close encounter.
Check the line for Everest and either grab a LL or do a single rider. Ride Everest.

Snack Time
Stop by Thirsty River Bar located next to Everest and grab and cocktail to go. Then head to the hut Eight Spoon Cafe found just across the bridge from the Bird Show or just down from the exit of Bugs Life to get Baked Mac N Cheese w/pulled pork.

Find a spot to sit at one of the outdoor places nearby and enjoy your treats while people watching.
Hop on another ride or another show or just walk around the park and explore. Do a shopping day and walk in and out of every shop and walk down every public path in the park that you may not have explored. If you want to stay away from the core crowds, stay out of Pandora, it's the most congested spot in the park.
Head out of Animal Kingdom park and stop in the shops on your way out in case there is something you want to buy.
3:00 pm Cocktails
But where to?
There are so many options here. Let's keep it simple. 2 options below, depending on what time you leave Animal Kingdom Park. (remember how I mentioned we are not scheduling our day.
Either option below, if you want to avoid people, you can easily grab a Ride Share from Animal Kingdom Park instead of taking the bus. Instead of heading right after you exit the park to go towards the buses, Take a left and go along the left side of the parking lot and you will see ride share signs to meet the Lyft or Uber you secure.

Before 3:30?
Head to Grand Floridian and go have drinks at Enchanted Rose. They do not open til 3:30, so watch your time. If you arrive a few min early you can sit outside one one of the benches and relax. They also have great apps if you need a snack. The Enchanted Rose is a walk-in lounge and they have both an indoor area (that is low-lit and quiet) or an outdoor balcony overlooking the pool.
After 3:30 PM?
Head to Disney Yacht Club resort and grab a cocktail at Ale and Compass Lounge, they do not open until 4pm. It should be very quiet this time of day, you can sit inside if you need some air conditioning, otherwise grab a rocking chair (for quite time) on their porch or just stroll along the boardwalk with your cocktail.
Head to Epcot If you are coming from Grand Floridian, take the monorail to the Transportation center and then go down the ramp and back up the next ramp for the Epcot monorail. If heading from Boardwalk area, walk to the back entrance of Epcot.
Grab a new Lightining Lane or just walk the countries.
Turn right into the park and walk around the countries, go in all the shops, walk the alley ways, tour the mini garden areas.
When you get to Morocco, walk back through the country, there is a Sangria area just behind the door to see Jasmine. It's a quieter spot to sit, play on your phone and get out of the heat. Grab a snack from one of the festival stands and head back there to eat.

Next stop, Japan. Head to the Garden House hut and order a Violet Sake. You will thank me later. Sit up in the garden area to the left of the stand. It is out of the sun and typically has a seat open. If you like sushi, there is a sushi stand behind the Garden House and their sushi options are limited but they are good and fresh.

Head to Italy and grab a slice of pizza from Via Napoli, hint. You can get a slice to go and sit at one of their outdoor tables. You need some food for the cocktails. It is a great spot for people watching. All those families struggling with their kids and rushing around will make you appreciate your solo time.
Walk throug the next few countries, exploring, watching any of the entertainers and exploring the shops. Sit when you want, walk when you want.
Head into Norway and get a sweet treat, you have earned it after all this walking and exploring by yourself. The school bread is very good.

We saved the best for last. Head into the Mexican pavilion and ride the 3 Amigos boat ride, its a quick line, air conditioned and relaxing. Then walk over to the line at La Cava and get a Margarita. you can ask to sit in the small bar or take it to go. I list a couple of my favorites on my Instagram stories. Make sure you ask for the spicy rim.
End your day with whatever dining reservation you set or stay and watch the fireworks show. It is your day, See what you feel like by the end of the day.
Let me know when you have used this daily itinerary and what your favorite part was.
Cheers,
Lisa
